Hampton Horsefeathers 4H Club

Are you crazy about horses and between the ages of 9 and 19? Do you know

The Hampton Horsefeathers 4H Club is always looking for new members!

In 1996, Carol Hemphill started the Hampton Horsefeathers 4H Club in Fairfax County.

With the basic foundation of a love of horses, we are a diverse club with everything from highly skilled and trained equestrians to avid horse lovers (waiting and hoping to one day have a horse of their own!)

If you love horses and are between the ages of 9 an 19, then you're ready to join us, no horse required!

We have a lot of exciting learning opportunities including clinics, demonstrations, traveling to horse events, and guest speakers such as veterinarians and farriers (a person who works on horses' feet.) The highlights of our year are the Hippology Contest (hippology means the study of horses), and helping to run/participating in the horse show at our yearly Fairfax County 4H Fair!

Some fun events we have participated in over past years include attending the Washington International Horse Show, visiting Olympic Equestrians David and Karen O'Connor at their farm, serving as "pooper scoopers" at Clifton's Christmas Parade and volunteering at local equine rescues and therapeutic riding groups. To see events for this year, check out our calendar!

Our monthly business meetings are held the first Monday of every month. These dates are subject to change due to holidays or other conditions. Please check the calendar to see our plans for this month!
